We’ve been buoyed by all your lovely words of encouragement and can’t wait to share the first of these intimate events with you at our series premiere in June.
For those who missed out on the early goss, we’ve joined forces with the legendary team at Junction Moama, to take our #spreadingthegoodstuff concept to a new level.
Yep – our crusade to spread the power of positive communication and kindness through the written word is going verbal!
Through a series of live and intimate conversation hours held at Junction Moama, The Splendid Word will examine the lives of extraordinary individuals in our region who are following their passions and making a meaningful difference in their patch.
We’ll be getting up close and inquisitive with our guests to shine some positive light on issues of importance here at Echuca Moama including mental health, rural suicide, disability and inclusiveness, multiculturalism and refugees, health and wellbeing, community engagement, and much, much more.
#spreadingthegoodstuff Conversation Series will launch on Thursday June 9, at 5.30pm featuring special guest Katrina Myers in the conversation spotlight.
Ms Myers is managing director of the award-winning Barham Avocados, and will share her personal insight on the Ripple Effect movement – an initiative designed to provide a platform for farmers to help other farmers beat suicide.
Having lost her own father to suicide at just 15, she has a first-hand experience of the stigma surrounding mental illness, and joined the Ripple Effect project to help start the conversation about suicide, and build an online community for those directly, and indirectly affected.
