A story of dedication, hard work and a bucketload of passion…

It’s time again for our weekly dose of #spreadingthegoodstuff and this week’s story is one that involves dedication, hard work and a bucketload of passion – all the stuff we love here at The Splendid Word.

As you might be aware we spend a big chunk of our working week sharing stories for Goulburn Ovens Tafe (GOTAFE) and last week we were busy #spreadingthegoodstuff about local lady and GOTAFE student Kerrilyn Bassett who had been named a finalist in this year’s Victorian Training Awards.

Kerrilyn’s GOTAFE trainer had given us the heads-up, feeling she had the right attitude and tenacious personality to take out the state Trainee of the Year award… and that’s exactly what she did!

The Kyabram based agriculture student has been kicking some serious goals since starting in the industry only three years ago and has collected some mighty awards and serious accolades in her brief, but already uber-successful, career.

Importantly, the 23-year-old is also an outstanding role model for other young women keen to work in the dairy industry.
Her passion and dedication has inspired others to follow a similar path, prompting an increase in female agriculture enrolments at GOTAFE.

Three cheers for Kerrilyn!

It has been a privilege sharing her story and we know she will have a long and successful career in the industry.

It’s amazing where a little hard work and a lot of passion can get you.
