Christy is a freelance writer, with 13 years’ media and marketing experience. For the past two years she has written feature articles for Homescape Magazine, covering stories across the Goulburn and Murray valleys. She trained as a cadet journalist with the McPherson Media Group, working at the Riverine Herald in Echuca, Southern Riverina News in Finley and as editor at Rochester’s Campaspe Valley News in Rochester before travelling overseas.
While working in the fitness industry with the Echuca YMCA and in the veterinary industry for Moama Veterinary Clinic and Rose’s Vet Practice, she gained valuable experience in media and marketing through newsletter production, direct marketing and in-house product promotion. Gaining and maintaining sponsorship is an integral part of Christy’s skill set and she holds significant experience in this space through her time with Echuca Moama public relations and event management company, The Engine Room.
She has an ongoing volunteer role in gaining sponsorship for various not-for-profit groups in the community and is a founding member of LoveEM (a blog-site dedicated to promoting all that is wonderful about Echuca Moama).
Christy lives in Echuca with her husband Troy and three young children, Tighe, Finnella and Marli.
